Revizion – a reviews platform by Ukrainian businessmen. Investor Petro Chernyshov on Facebook wrote about the startup's path from creation to first investments. The MC.today editorial team tells the story of the platform, its uniqueness and investments in the project.
What is Revizion
Revizion is a Ukrainian startup, a platform with reviews about restaurants, online and offline stores, services. Founded in May 2017 and operates throughout Ukraine.
Here is how it works: a restaurant or store connects to the platform, receives a QR code. Guests scan it, for example, from a receipt, then go to the rating page and leave a review immediately after their visit. In the case of online stores, the Revizion system sends the client an email asking them to leave a review. Reviews can also be left by phone, via SMS and in messengers.
According to the platform, about 10-15% of clients leave reviews. They go directly to the site or to moderation if the review is negative. The latter can be deleted, but only if the problem with the client has been resolved. If the company has no website, reviews appear on a personal page on Revizion.
Who are the creators and what makes it unique
The platform can calculate the NPS index (Net Promoter Score — a measure of consumer loyalty to a product or company), verify the authenticity of reviews and evaluate staff. They also offer analytics on the company's service quality.
Revizion was created by Serhiy Shapirenko and Serhiy Holoborodko, Ukrainian businessmen.
«Typical Ukrainian guys: one a salesman and dreamer, the other an IT specialist. Everything as it should be when creating startups», — writes Petro Chernyshov.
Currently the platform serves store chains such as «Intertop», Watsons, «Luxoptica», logistics companies «Nova Poshta», «Ukrposhta» and over 500 restaurants across the country.
Investments in the project
One of the first to invest in the project was former president of «Kyivstar» Petro Chernyshov. He invested in the business over 330 thousand UAH and received a 15% stake.
«About a year and a half ago, two guys from Zhytomyr came to me, both named Serhiy. They convinced me and my friend to invest money in the startup and become their shareholders», — writes Petro Chernyshov.
During the development process, the project co-founders changed their target audience and achieved good sales. Due to coronavirus, the startup practically lost everything, but in July it recovered to a level higher than before the pandemic.
On July 3rd the Ukrainian Startup Fund allocated $50 thousand in investments to the project.
«This is, of course, very cool for ordinary guys from Zhytomyr. Although now they are no longer ordinary — they will soon have, I hope, a Series A (investments at the active growth stage — Ed.) », — writes Chernyshov.
